If you could spend a year with any real or fictional person in the past, present, or future, whom would you choose? Why?
I if could choose a person to spend a whole year with from the past, he would be Osama Bin Laden. He is well known Terrorist and the founder of Al-Qaeda. Its headquarters is now in Yemen. Osama was just killed by a US special ops team in Pakistan. He had a horrible hatred against the United States of America, and its allies. He was the son of a Saudi billionaire, who got involved in the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. He has made an impact on terrorism and with terrorism.
I wanted to meet him, because I am interested in why he chose the path of war by becoming a soldier and not a leader in the government. He had the qualities of a leader; he directed a big group of men for 32 years. He had earned the rust of his men, and family. He fueled his organization with money and weapons through what he inherited from his father. I would be determined to ask him why he wages wars against the US and its allies, what motivates him to live and sleep underground while forces who are after him are bombing the hill sides he lives in ? Why does he want to follow the old ways of Islam?
\
To spend a year with him, would be the most dangerous, violent and significantly interesting year I would ever live, that is if I came home alive. It could be a life changing experience, my views on terrorism and Islam would change. I will understand their reason to fight. Those 365 days, or 366 days will be very special.
